Seoul International Drama Awards 2022's Grand Prize goes to UK <Help>
With
the participation of the winners from each country, the award was broadcast
live at KBS Hall on Thursday, September 22nd at 5:00 pm

The Grand Prize at the global festival ‘Seoul International Drama Awards
2022’ went to U.K.’s <Help>.
The Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee
(Chairman Kim Eui-Chul) held an awards ceremony at the KBS Hall at 5:00 pm on
Thursday, September 22nd, and announced each award in the Program Category
(Best TV Movie/Mini Series/Serial Drama), Individual Category (Director/Screenwriter/Actor/Actress), Korean Drama (Outstanding Drama/Actors/Actresses/O.S.T) and Outstanding
Asian Stars Category including the Grand Prize winner.
The Grand Prize winner, U.K.'s <Help>
was highly appraised by the judges for depicting the most vulnerable sector
during the pandemic, a care home with the bitter struggle between patients and
caregivers, the right to live, and the dignity of humans. Stephen Graham
and Jodie Comer, the two lead actors from <Help> won the Best Actor and Actress
Awards for their flawless performances, which concludes <Help> to be
honored with three crowns.
Before the awards ceremony, the red carpet event with major celebrities
was also
held from
3:30 pm. Korean
stars such as Kang
Daniel, Kim Gyu-Ri, Jun Hyo-Seong and Choi Jin-Hyuk, as well as top stars from
various countries such as Anupam Tripathi of <Squid Game>, Yusei Yagi
from Japan and Belle Mariano from the Philippines also walked the red carpet.
The awards ceremony, hosted by actors and
multi-entertainers Joo Sang-Wook and Jung Eun-Ji, was broadcast
live for 120 minutes on KBS 2TV.
The 17th Seoul International Drama Awards is
the world's first international awards specializing in dramas, and 225 dramas
from 39 countries participated despite the COVID-19 outbreak.
