From <3 Body Problem> to <Moving>
With the Seoul International Drama Awards
facing its fiercest competition in its 19-year history, who will win the awards?

A total of 346 dramas that captivated the world will compete
at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024.
Seoul
Drama Awards Organizing Committee(SDAOC, led by the Chairman Park Min) announced, "This year, 346
dramas from 48 countries, the largest number ever, have been submitted,"
and added, "
Many works, directors, actors,
and writers from all over the world who got global attention have been widely participated."
In the International
Competition Category, 336 entries are competing for nominees to the final screening,
including △<3 Body Problem>(Netflix), which garnered a fandom even before
its release due to the involvement of the "Game of Thrones"
production team △<Blossoms>(Tencent), the first drama by director Wong
Karwai, famous for <In the Mood for Love> △<Elsbeth>(Paramount), a
spin-off drama from the U.S. hit series <The Good Wife> △<Berlin>(Vancouver
Media), a prequel featuring Berlin, a popular character from <Money Heist>.
The Japanese TBS
drama <Eye Love You>, starring Korean actor Chae Jong-hyeop and making “Hyop-sama"
syndrome, is also noteworthy. Numerous award-winning works from the Canneseries,
the British Academy Television Awards, and the Monte-Carlo TV Festival,
including <The Zweiflers> (ZDF Studios) and <The Seed> (Odeon
Fiction), have also been submitted.
In the K-Drama
Competition Category, numerous superb works have been participated. These
include <Moving>, <Uncle Samsik>, <Vigilante> (Disney+), <Queen
of Tears> (Studio Dragon), <The Killer's Shopping List> (Netflix), and
<My Dearest> (MBC), all vying for a chance to win awards.
The individual
award entries are also impressive. Actors such as Kim Soo-hyun <Queen of
Tears>, Kim Tae-ri <Revenant>, Song Kang-ho <Uncle Samsik>, Chae
Jong-hyeop <Eye Love You>, Anna Schudt <Push>, Ansel Elgort <Tokyo
Vice 2>, and Zheyuan Chen <Hidden Love> have been submitted in the International
Competition and K-Drama Competition categories. Additionally, renowned
directors and writers like Susanna White <The
Buccaneers> and Jack Williams <The Tourist 2> have been submitted
for individual awards.
This year's submissions have been received from all six
continents, including entries from South Africa. Moreover, Iraq, Latvia, and
Bosnia and Herzegovina participated for the first time in SDA. Additionally, 53
dramas from 14 OTT platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, and GLOBO have been
submitted, confirming the status of the Seoul International Drama Awards in the
global market.
The winners of the
Seoul International Drama Awards 2024 will be presented at the Awards Ceremony,
and it will be broadcasted live at SBS TV on September 25th, Wednesday. In
addition to the main ceremony, various side events with celebrities such as
Drama Talk Concert and Screening will be held at Banpo Hangang Park from
September 26(Thu) to September 27(Fri).
