Global fans will choose by themselves the best TV series stars in six different Asian countries/region.
Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee and TNK Factory will host vote set for △ Outstanding Asian Stars (actors and actresses of Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines) △ Outstanding Drama O.S.T from June 15 to July 14, 2023 through the voting app “Idolchamp”. "Idolchamp" is a voting platform service jointly developed by TNK Factory and MBC Plus, and has more than 8 million fandom users around the world.
As celebrities from each country are on the entry list for SDA 2023 Outstanding Asian Stars, fierce competition is expected. In Korea, actors and actresses who led the K-drama craze throughout the year including ‘Song Joong-ki’, ‘Lee Je-hoon’, ‘Yoon-ah’, ‘Park Eun-bin’ and ‘Song Hye-kyo’ are nominated. In China ‘Lai Ter-Chien’ who was the former member of the group Wanna One, ‘Wanghedi’ who was the main character of <Meteor Garden>, and ‘Shuxin Yu’, the heroine of <Love Between Fairy and Devil> will compete. In Thailand, ‘Nichkhun’ of 2PM is nominated and in Japan, ‘Tsuyoshi Kusanagi’ and ‘Kento Yamazaki’, who are also well-known to Korean fans, are both on the list. Also ‘Vivian Sung’, the heroine of <Our Times> in Taiwan, and ‘Kathryn Bernardo’, a popular Filipino actress were nominated. For Outstanding Drama O.S.T, ‘Kim Ho-joong’, who released his first OST with <Three Bold Siblings>, and EXO's ‘Baekhyun’, who sang the OST of <Dr. Romantic S3> are nominated.
With the rise in popularity of K-drama and K-Pop worldwide, "Idolchamp Artist Award" is newly created this year. This award is for Idol actors and actresses who contribute to the spread of Hallyu and venture into the world of acting, and many popular idols from ‘ENHYPEN’, ‘PENTAGON’, and ‘Girls' Generation’, are nominated. Candidates for all categories can be checked through the voting app "Idolchamp" on June 15.
Seoul International Drama Awards, which marks
its 18th anniversary this year, is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports
and Tourism, Seoul Metropolitan Government, KBS, MBC, SBS, EBS, and CBS. The
awards ceremony will be held live on KBS 2TV on September 21 (Thursday).
Winners selected by the vote will also be invited to the ceremony to share the
joy of winning the award with the general public.
